Jynx is a hilarious new card game, inspired by games like Contract Rummy, Cards Against Humanity, and Secret Hitler. Players have to perform silly acts to prevent each other from winning the game. The 154 card deck, that encompasses a minimalist aesthetic, is made for 2-6 players, ages seven and older. The game is made up of seven card combinations called “chapters” each with a unique set of rules. The first to complete all seven chapters wins, or if two people complete them at the same time, the player with the least amount of points wins.

This article will hopefully help you find some of those gems, both games and gaming accessories alike. I’m a big fan of post-apocalyptic settings, and a also a huge fan of strategic card games. RONE stood out to me because of the theme, the great looking design of the cards, and the fantastic artwork. It’s nearly funded and just needs a little boost. From the RONE campaign page:
“Races of New Era (RONE) is a strategic post-apocalyptic card game for 2 or 4 players set in a dark world full of destruction and suffering. It combines exciting and unique card game mechanics with enormous possibilities of how to play the game.”

Hunters: Enter the Darkness
Photo from the Hunter Kickstarter campaign page
Hunters is a Gothic-themed miniatures game inspired by League of Legends, which in turn was inspired by one of my all-time favorite games, Defense of the Ancients, a Warcraft 3 mod. In Hunters:Enter the Darkness players control their Champions and navigate the modular boards, fighting Minions which move in a programmed fashion.

Askrias Cube – Game Aid Dice
The Askrias Cube is a great looking game aid that comes with the dice cubes themselves, the tiles that form the 6 sides and stickers to customize your cubes! From the campaign page:
“Basically, the Askrias Cube is a plastic die frame that has slots on all 6 sides. Then the user will be able to insert tiles onto the different sides – therefore creating their own die for whatever uses they have in mind. What’s better is that – the cube act as a normal die as well, you can roll it, shake it, toss it and the tiles will not fall out. However with a simple tug with your nails, the tile can be changed without much hassle.”

The first article focusing on an unsolicited look at cool and interesting Kickstarter campaigns. Basically, as a huge fan of Kickstarter, I will peruse its selection of board games, card games or gaming accessories and make report of any of note. I will focus on games that are either high in quality, exceptional in its design, on its way to being funded successfully or a combination of these attributes. I reiterate that this report is unsolicited, but I would ask that you click the links if interested, if for no other reason than to support those attempting to further our hobby.
