A Game of Thrones: Hand of the King is a small card game from Fantasy Flight Games that I have been looking forward to since its announcement. In HotK 2-4 players take turns moving Varys, the Master of Whispers, and gaining the favor of lords and ladies of the 7 major Houses of Westeros.

The game says it only takes 15-30 minutes to play, and includes 35 Character Cards (Tyrion Lannister, Eddard Stark, Danaerys Targaryen,Hoster Tully, etc.) as well as 14 Companion Cards (Hodor, Jon Snow, Khal Drogo, Brienne of Tarth, etc.) on top of the game’s tokens. I think players who are fans of Action Phase Games’ Ninja Camp will find HotK familiar and appealing, especially because of the unique and beautiful artwork featured.
