When we started designing our game (previously under the working title of ‘The Remains’) we had a small budget. Sergio and I planned to do digitally altered photos for the artwork, even though we realized that that is rarely greeted warmly in the board game community. We posted a call out for photos of people either dressed as zombies or zombie hunters/survivors to aid us in this endeavor. Plans changed though, as they sometimes do, and we decided to commision artwork. My wonderful friend and talented artist, Dirk Clingman, took on the challenge. Only two readers submitted photos when when asked, so we decided to have them included in the game anyway. A big thank you to Brian and Vincent for submitting; here’s the 2 nearly finished pieces of artwork inspired by them!
