Pandemic is one of the most popular cooperative games ever made, and the game has seen several expansions and lighter remakes made. Pandemic: Legacy however, is going to be a different monster! The game will be released soon, and there is a lot of anticipation about this iteration of the board game classic!
Pandemic: Legacy has two different versions, Red and Blue, but there is a little bit of mystery surrounding the differences in the two different versions. Most websites list the contents as exactly the same. Some speculate the differences could be as simple as a visual reminder in case players are running two different campaigns with different groups, and others have suggested that there are language differences. There is no distinction between the two on the Z-Man website, so who knows!?
Since the game is available for pre-order without details on the differences, I would imagine that it purely cosmetic!
Differing from the standard Pandemic game, Legacy is meant to be played in campaign format with the game changing from session to session. From the Z-Man website:
“The world is on the brink of disaster. In Pandemic Legacy, your disease fighting team must keep four deadly diseases at bay for a whole year. Each month will bring new surprises, and your actions in each game will have repercussions on the next. Will you let cities fall to the diseases? Will your team be enough to keep the viruses at bay for a whole year?
Craft your own unique Pandemic experience with Pandemic Legacy.
• An epic twist on the now classic Pandemic mechanisms.
• Ever-changing elements means that every game will be unique to your group.
• Shape the world, the characters, and even the diseases.”
I look forward to playing this very much! Check out Pandemic: Legacy on the Z-Man Games website by clicking here!
